Open for high school seniors and college students studying at educational institutions outside China (Members from University Alliance of the Silk Road are preferred). Please note the course enrolment limit is 50 students.

Topics covered in this course
This course consists of eight lectures, respectively focusing on:
· A brief introduction to China's political framework
· Three stages in the evolution of China's economic system
· The Progress of Chinese science and technology under the vision of Chinese Marxism
· Is there a Chinese model?
· China's relations with South Asian countries
· The basic logic of China's foreign relations
· Silk Road Spirit
· The zeitgeist of the Iron Man Spirit
Features of the course
This course will be carried out in the form of lectures and discussions. Activities and case study assignments are designed to encourage understanding of the basic features and advantages of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics, and to promote understanding of the outlook and spirit of China's economic and social development in the new era.
Teaching faculty
Li Xiuzhen holds a PhD from Northwest University. She is a professor in the School of Marxism at Xi’an Jiaotong University. Her research focuses on international relations. Her recent publications include A history of Western civilization (Xi'an Jiaotong University Press).
Fan Yuxian, a PhD of Applied Economics. Her research field is Marxist political economy studies. Her publications focus on reform of state-owned enterprises. She currently serves as the deputy director of the Institute of Basic Marxist Principles of the School of Marxism at Xi’an Jiaotong University.
Wang Zhe, a PhD from Xi’an Jiaotong University. His research field is ideological theory. His recent publications include Theory of engineering knowledge (Higher Education Press).
Feng Zheng holds a PhD from Peking University. Her research focuses on history of Chinese diplomacy. She is also interested in global governance. Her recent publications include Sovereignty Sensitivity and Mutual Trusts: Rethink Taiwan's "International Space" (Jiuzhou Press).
Li Jiasheng, a PhD from Nankai University. His research field is India's foreign Policy and Sino-Indian relations. His recent publications include Achievements and evaluation of Indian international Relations studies.
Tang Min, a PhD of management from Xi’an Jiaotong University. Her research field focuses on old-age security and people's livelihood. His recent publications include A NOVEL REMOTE SENSING EVALUATION METHOD OF ECOLOGICAL ENVIRONMENT CARRYING CAPACITY OF ELDERLY COMMUNITY.
Feng Liang is an experienced teacher in the School of Marxism of Xi’an Jiaotong University, China. His main research field falls in ideological and political education and social governance. His interests also include the spirit of Chinese red culture.
